Marquette Gets Sweep In Escanaba Triangular
ESCANABA---Marquette won both the boys and girls track meets on Tuesday at the Escanaba High School Track. In the girls meet, Marquette was first with 79 points. Escanaba was second with 50, and Menominee was third with 35. In the boys meet, Marquette edged Menominee, 67-66, with Escanaba third at 38 points.
In the girls meet, Escanaba's Meredith Marlett won the 100 meter hurdles in 18:31. Eskymo Morgan Mathieson won the discuss in 93'08, and Marlett won the high jump in 5'1.
Marlett was also second in the long jump, just behind Eskymo teammate Kayla Harris at 14'02. And Eskymo Holly Ettenhofer won the pole volt at 7 feet 6 inches.
In the boys meet, the Eskymo 3200 relay team of Jake Walker, Jordan Ogren, Eddie Terres, and Andrew Stenberg took first place in 8 minutes, 54.17 seconds. The Eskymos took second, third, and fourth place in the 1600 and 3200 runs, behind Marquette's Cole Rieboldt in both cases. Stenberg was second overall in both of those distance races.
