Popelka, Willette Lead JV Eskymos Past Sault 41-12
 ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School junior varsity football team improved to 6-2 on the season with a 41-12 win over Sault Ste. Marie Thursday night in Escanaba. The Eskymos threw an interception, a missed field goal, and had several penalties in the first half, but had more than enough firepower to beat the Blue Devils.

This one was on the ground, from 29 yards out, and included a sweet spin move that got him free. In the second quarter, Popelka scored on a 46-yard touchdown run. Paul Carne kicked all three extra points, and the Eskymos led 21-0 at halftime. The half's only blemishes were an interception by the Soo's Danny Smith, and a blocked 28-yard field goal by Carne. Willette scored another touchdown in the second half and everyone got the chance to play as the Eskymos rolled up a big lead as the clock rolled on.
