Esky Tennis Team Ties Kingsford; Gladstone Next
 KINGSFORD---The Escanaba High School tennis team won three of four singles matches and managed to post a 4-4 tie with the Kingsford Flivvers in a Great Northern Conference match Tuesday in Dickinson County.
"We are continuing to play good tennis lately," Eskymo Coach Jim Hansen said. "We are improving every day. We are still making some tweaks to our lineup as well. We will be finishing up some challenges this week."
Kingsford's Caleb Harrington won at #1 singles, but Tyler Myrick, John Brant, and T.J. Myrick (normally a doubles player) won their singles matches. The Flivvers took three doubles matches, with the #4 doubles team of Kyle Pinozek and Nate Belanger getting the lone win at doubles for the Eskymos. "I am extremely proud of all the guys today," Hansen said. "From top to bottom, and bottom to top. They are going in the right direction. They are taking care of each other. They are playing hard and some good things happened for them today." Escanaba was supposed to play twice on Wednesday, but will only play once as Kingsford will not be coming for a make-up match. The Eskymos will face the Gladstone Braves at 3:00. The kids will then go for their sports physicals after the match. Tuesday's results: Singles
