Eskymos Win GNC Golf Title; Braves Take Second
MARQUETTE---The Escanaba Eskymos edged the Gladstone Braves to win the Great Northern Conference boys golf championship Thursday in Marquette. The Eskymos won with 322 strokes, with Gladstone second at 325 and Marquette third with 329. Gladstone's Kyle Pouliot was the medalist, shooting a 73 on the par-71 Heritage Golf Course. Escanaba's Dylan Gauthier was second with a 76. Gladstone's Bryce Douglas finished third with a 78, and Marquette's Scott Frazier took fourth place with a 79. And Marquette's Brett Specker finished in fifth place with a nine-over 80. In the girls GNC match, Marquette won with 421 strokes. Escanaba was second with 429, and Menominee was a distant third with 504 strokes. Marquette's Ellie Hicks was the medalist with 90 strokes. Escanaba's Sam Henderson finished as runner-up, shooting a 99. Escanaba's Megan Dagenais finished third, shooting a 102. |
