Negaunee, Marquette X-C Runners Win In Munising
MUNISING---The Escanaba High School boys cross-country team finished third at the Munising Invitational on Tuesday.Negaunee won the team score with 47 points. Miner runner Colton Yesney was fourth overall in 17:17. Marquette was second with 79 points, led by Lance Rambo, who won the race in 16:30. Escanaba had 81 points, led by Joey Wolfe, who was runner-up in 16:41. Kingsford finished fourth with a team score of 124 points. Flivver Nate Carey was third individually, finishing in 16:57. Ishpeming finished fifth with128 points, with Spencer Giroux taking fifth place individually, finishing in 17:32. In Tuesday's girls races, the Marquette Redettes rolled to the championship of the Munising Invitational on Tuesday. Marquette had 28 points, with Negaunee a distant second with 87. Munising was third (116) and Gladstone was fourth (138). Marquette had three of the top five girls finishers: Lindsey Rudden (1st, 18:54), Holly Blowers (4th, 19:37), and Amber Huebner (5th, 20:01). Negaunee's Clara Johnson was the individual runner-up, finishing the course in 19:20. Westwood's Katie Etelamaki was the third place girls' finisher, in 19:24. |
