Gladstone Girls Fall On Road To Kingsford, 67-48
KINGSFORD---The Gladstone High School girls basketball team gave up the first 13 points of the game and fell to the Kingsford Flivvers, 67-48, on Tuesday in Kingsford. The Braves fell to 1-4 to start the season, but there is help on the way, as three girls who have been out of the lineup will play for the first time next Tuesday against Westwood. After falling behind early, the Braves did battle back to within 22-17 at the end of the first quarter. But the Flivvers pulled away in the second quarter, outscoring Gladstone, 17-8, heading into halftime. Jordyn Kriegl nailed a half-court shot at the halftime buzzer to send the Flivvers into the locker room. Kingsford (4-1) pulled away in the third quarter, outscoring Gladstone, 19-9. Three Flivvers scored in double figures. Hannah Carlson led the way with a game-high 25 points. Kriegel added 16 and Renee Roberts chipped in with 12 points. Gladstone got 17 points from Taylor Hunter and ten from Kaitlyn Hardwick. Kingsford also won the junior varsity game, 51-32. |
