Bay College Signs First Women's Basketball Recruit

ST. IGNACE---Bay College Women’s Basketball coach, Rae Drake Jr, is proud to announce the first women’s basketball signee in the history of Bay College.

Jordan Belleville of LaSalle High School in St. Ignace has committed to play for the Norse in 2017-18.  She signed during a ceremony Monday afternoon in St. Ignace.
 
As a freshman Belleville was a member of the Saints basketball team which became 2013-2014 class C district, regional, and state runner-up finalists. As a sophomore the team won district, regional, and state championships, while Belleville received a playmaker award.

As a junior, her team won district and regional championships, while Belleville received honorable mention in the Straits Area Conference, was selected a team co-captain, along with winning the Most Inspirational Award.

As a senior, Jordan has been selected as a co-captain and was a First Team selection in the Straits Area Conference.  Her team has won district and regional titles and will play in the state quarter finals in Gaylord on Tuesday. Belleville also participated in volleyball.

In the classroom Jordan has been on honor roll throughout her high school career, and is a member of the Prentiss M. Brown chapter of the National Honor Society.
 
“I am so happy to have a Jordan become a member of our Norse family, she is a very good player, great student, and even better person," Drake said. "Jordan comes from a great family and one of the most successful high school programs in Michigan.  The habit of winning will be a great asset to our program.”

The Bay College women's basketball team will open its inaugrual season on November 1.
