Norway Senior Girls Heading Downstate For Finals
NORWAY----The Norway Senior Girls (age 15-16) will represent the Upper Peninsula at the Senior Softball State Tournament in downstate Clinton next weekend. Norway earned the long trip downstate by beating Keweenaw twice in the sectionals on Saturday at Marion Park. The girls beat Keweenaw, 15-4, in the first game, then took the second game, 6-5 in eight innings. 13-year-0ld Harley Kastor went the distance in the circle in the nightcap, and Bobbi Hulce had the game-winning hit in the eighth inning. The team needs to report to that small south Michigan town by Friday at 10:00 A.M. Eastern. Games begin on Saturday. We will post a state tournament schedule as soon as we get the information.
