END OF THE LINE: Munising Girls Fall In 'D' Semi
BATTLE CREEK---The Munising High School girls volleyball team lost to the Fowler Eagles in the Class D state semifinals, 3-0, Thursday afternoon at Kellogg Arena in Battle Creek. The scores were 25-21, 25-18, 25-11. I think if we were firing on all cylinders today, we might've been able to play with Fowler, but we just weren't," Munising Coach Ted Williams said. "They were a good team with smart hitters and we just weren't able to get a good offense going." Kianne Wendt had eight kills and six digs, Marissa Ackerman had 17 digs, and Emily Contreras added nine digs and 15 assists for Munising. "Our girls have every reason to hold their heads high," Williams said. "It's been an unbelievable season and ending it at the big show was a good way to go out." Munising finishes its season with a 27-7-4 record. |
