Escanaba's Griffin Signs To Play Softball For Norse
This story was written by Bay College Athletics Maddy plays third base for Escanaba High School and hit for a .415 average during her junior year. Her five doubles, one triple, and two homeruns were good for a whopping .612 slugging percentage, while she was on base at a .494 clip. Maddy also has played for the Heart Breakers travel team since she was 12, as well as participating on the Little League All-Star team between the ages of 10-16. She was on the Escanaba All-Star team that was state champions for three consecutive years (2014-2016). Those teams also took second place in Regional Tournaments in 2015 and 2016. Griffin is also a member of the Escanaba High School basketball team. She is a National Honor Society member, as well as being a part of HOSA-Future Health Professionals. "Maddy is an all-around strong player and brings power to the plate," commented Head Softball Coach Heidi Charon. "She has a great attitude and is an exceptionally hard worker. Maddy is exactly the kind of player we want to represent Bay College and our community."
