Northern Michigan Lacrosse Falls To Tiffin Dragons
This story was written by NMU Sports Information Pacing the NMU squad was sophomore Graison Ringlever (Mattawan, Mich.), who posted two goals and led the team with six draw controls, three ground balls and three caused turnovers. Freshman Emily Dvorak (Oconomowoc, Wis./Arrowhead) also notched two goals and an assist. Freshman Ellie Bahr (Crystal, Minn./ Benilde St. Margarets) added a goal, and junior Megan Palicio (Cumberland, R.I.) tallied her first goal of the season. Senior Briana Bangle (St. Paul, Minn./Cretin-Derham Hall) recorded eight saves on the day. The Dragons got off to a hot start and jumped to a 7-0 lead early before Ringlever scored on a free position shot to get NMU on the board. She then scored again to make it 7-2 10 minutes into the game. After TU answered with a goal, Dvorak scored her first of the day. The guests responded with two more goals before Dvorak put one into the cage on a free position shot, making the score 10-4 midway through the first half. The visitors put another one in, but Dvorak found Palacio to answer and moved the score 11-5. With just over one minute left in the half, Bahr found the net to make it 12-6. The Wildcats fall to 1-5 overall and 0-3 in the GLIAC while Tiffin improves to 5-3 on the season with a 2-1 GLIAC record. NMU returns to action Saturday with a contest at GLIAC foe Davenport University. |
