Knights Rally Past Broncos To Split Doubleheader
BARK RIVER---Payton Thompson hit a three-run homer in the fifth inning to help the Norway Knights beat the Bark River-Harris Broncos, 6-4, in the second game of a doubleheader on Monday. The Broncos won the opener, 7-1. In that opener, Matt Richer pitched all six innings to earn the victory for BR-H. Ryan Arndt and Cole Ray had RBI singles to help break the game open in the fourth inning. Mason Korhonen worked in and out of trouble for the Broncos on the mound, then tired in the fifth inning when he gave up a hit and two walks. He gave way to Brad Vandermissen, who yielded the Thompson three-run shot to right field. Norway closer Micah Wilson came on for a six-out save, and he got it, with his biggest pitch being a called third strike on Arndt to end the fifth inning. Bark River-Harris is back in action on Tuesday in Escanaba. Game time is 5:00. It will be broadcast live on Eagle 107.3 FM and at www.radioresultsnetwork.com.
