Engadine Overwhelms NCA Jets In Season Opener
 POWERS---The Engadine Eagles took advantage of five North Central turnovers and got a huge game from Andrew Blanchard, posting a 64-34 win over the Jets Thursday night in Powers. The Jets turned the ball over on three straight posessions while the game was still close, and the Eagles turned two of those turnovers into touchdowns.  But Engadine replied with a 30-yard Blanchard touchdown run on 4th and 1. It was the first of six touchdowns the Eagle senior put on the board Thursday night. Blanchard also intercepted a pass on defense when it looked like the Jets would score, and take the lead heading into halftime. Engadine led, 22-20, at halftime, before scoring three straight touchdowns in the third quarter to take control of the game. Gorzinski had a strong game for North Central. The junior quarterback had two touchdown runs, threw a touchdown pass, and caught a touchdown pass. That 62-yard reception came in the second quarter as Brady Eichmeier rotated over to the quarterback spot. The Jets led, 14-8, after that touchdown. Engadine came right back with a touchdown run by Jonah Miller, and the Jets couldn't recover from its own mistakes. Blanchard completed 6-of-14 passes for 163 yards, and he carried the ball 16 times for 251 yards. North Central battles Rapid River next Thursday night.
