Herioux Signs To Play Softball At Saginaw Valley St
GLADSTONE---Gladstone High School third baseman Sydney Herioux has signed a National Letter of Intent to play softball at Saginaw Valley State University. Herioux is a three-sport athlete at Gladstone, having also been a U.P. champion and All-Stater in tennis and in swimming. Herioux is also ranked #1 in her senior class with a 4.0 Grade Point Average and is a member of the National Honor Society. "From the start, I really liked the coaching staff," Herioux said. "When I went down there for as visit, it just felt like the right place to be." And how did she improve her game to the point of making an NCAA-II tea,? "Well, it took a lot of going downstate, and getti9ng a lot of games in with the team I played for downstate in the summers," Herioux said. "A lot of tournaments. A lot of driving. But it was worth it." In softball, Herioux was an All-District and All-Region selction in both 2017 and 2018, and was a Division Three All-State honorable mention pick. In tennis, Herioux was an All-State selection this past fall, and in swimming, she was an Upper Peninsula champion in three events in 2016 and two events in both 2017 and 2018.
