Escanaba Wraps Up Hockey Season With Banquet
ESCANABA----The Escanaba High School hockey team, wrapped up its 2018-19 season with its awards banquet at the House of Ludington. Christer Carne took home three awards, including the team MVP award. He also won the team's Hobey Baker Award nomination, and had the team's top grade point average for the Academic Award. Carne had 15 goals and 12 assists for 27 points this season. The team's Defensive Award went to Luke Labre, and fellow defenseman Nick Kolich got the "Player of Tomorrow" award. The Offensive Award went to Grant Wickham. Wickham led the Eskymos with 16 goals and 22 assists for 38 points. The "Little I" team player award went to Chris Sliva, and the "Mikey D" character award was given to Joey Jacobson. The Eskymos finished their season with a 12-14-0 record, after losing to Marquette in the regional championship game. ---Mike Dagenais photos--- |
