Negaunee Sweeps Escanaba; Now 9-1 On Season
ESCANABA---The Negaunee Miners tennis team improved to 9-1 on the season by beating the Escanaba Eskymos, 8-0. on Monday in Escanaba. The Miners won seven of the eight matches in straight sets. But Williams and Austin won the third set, 6-2. "Good match against a good team," Escanaba Coach Chris Ogren said. "I believe they only have one loss this year, so we knew we were going to have some tough matches today. #3 doubles did a great job of taking a set. They’ve been getting a little bit better every meet. "There isn’t a team in the conference that they can’t compete with, and they should have a great showing at the GNC tournament on Wednesday."
