Norse Finish Fall Softball Season With 10-2 Record
HANCOCK--- The Bay College Norse softball team wrapped up the fall exhibition season Sunday with a doubleheader split against Finlandia University in Hancock. The Lions won the first game, 9-1, before the Norse took the nightcap, 2-0. Bay finishes the exhibition season with a 10-2 record. In the opener, the Norse managed only three base hits, with Lexi Chaillier getting two of them. Eden Oswald had the other Bay base hit. The Lions scored seven runs in the third inning off of Oswald, who pitched three innings and took the loss. Only two of those runs against her were earned. Emily Nguyen had two hits and drove in two runs for Finlandia. Casey Lopez also had two hits. In the nightcap, Oswald was tough on the mound, pitching a complete game shutout. She allowed just three hits and struck out 14 batters, walking none. The Norse managed single runs in the third and fourth innings. Bay had four hits in the ballgame, with Chaillier getting her third hit of the day, Beth Gannigan, Richelle Vandeville, and Hannah Edington had the other Norse hits. Franette Fernandez threw the first four innings for Finalndia and took the loss. Kassandra Avila threw two scoreless innings in relief. |
