Eskymos Dominate 'Golden K' Cross-Country Meets
ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School cross-country teams used their home course advantage to win the annual "Golden K" meet Saturday in Ludington Park.The Eskymo boys team had five of the first eight finishers to easily outdistance second-place Kingsford in the "big schools" division, while the Eskymo girls had five of the first seven places to top second-place Gladstone. In the "small schools" division, Stephenson edged Norway to win the boys race, while Rudyard beat Munising by six points to win the girls race. A toal of 208 varsity and junior varsity boys and girls from across the Upper Peninsula ran in the races, under bright, sunny skies in Escanaba.
