Spencer Bourdeau had a goal and an assist, and his younger brother Gunner added a goal as the Eskymos built a 3-0 lead and held on in the third period. Gunner Bourdeau's goal opened the scoring as the puck bounced in off the glove of goaltender Simon Rajala. The second goal was a pretty give-and-go between the two senior captains, as Nick Kolich gave it back to Spencer Bourdeau for the goal that made it 2-0. In the second period, Sawyer LaMarch scored to make it 3-0, with Spencer Bourdeau drawing the assist. At that point, Escanaba outshot Jeffers, 25-8. The Jets found their legs during the rest of the second period, and throughout the third period, but Dylan Ziemke stopped 23 of the 24 shots he faced to keep the Eskymos in front. Escanaba (2-9) finishes its home season with two games on Saturday against Negaunee. The games will start at noon and 6:00. Both will be broadcast live on WCHT-FM (93.5), WCHT-AM (NewsTalk 600), and on-line at www.rrnsports.com. |
