Stenberg, Giese On U.P. Cross-Country Dream Team
MARQUETTE---The U.P. High School Cross Country Coaches met Tuesday in Marquette to cast their votes for the top runners of the 2012 cross country season. The Escanaba Eskymos, who finished as runners-up in both the boys and girls races at the U.P. Finals last weekend, were well-represented on the Dream Teams, as well as on the Division One Teams.
Aimee Giese catches her breath after GNC's
Eskymo Aimee Giese finished fourth overall in both the GNC and U.P. Finals girls races, and she was picked to the D-1 Girls Dream Team. Escanaba's Brad Derouin, Jared Ogren, and Eric Cousineau were picked to the Division One All-U.P. Boys Team. And Eskymos Callie Heller and Aubree Peterson were added to the D-1 All-U.P. Girls team. Manistique was well-represented on Division Two All-U.P. teams. Four Emerald boys: Tyler Pomeroy, Bryson Lawrence, Ryan Ramey, and Robert Ayotte ...and two MHs girls, Holly Blowers and Darby Demars...were all given honors. And Carney-Nadeau's Dionte Blahnik was selected to the Division Three boys team. Upper Peninsula Boys X-Country Dream Team Runner of the Year----Parker Scott, Sault Ste.
