Jenshak, Eskymos Get Post-Season Tennis Honors
ESCANABA---The Escanaba Eskymos did not win the Upper Peninsula girls championship this fall, but the girls still had a successful season and they were praised for their efforts on Thursday. Eskymo Senior Codi Jenshak was chosen as the Division One Player of the Year, and the EHS doubles teams were also recognized by the U.P. coaches.

Also on the All-U.P. Singles team: Alison Austin (Gladstone), Sam Fleming (Kingsford), Maddy Gardiner (Marquette), Abbi Kill (Negaunee), and Ally Carlson (Negaunee). On the All-U.P. Doubles team: Braedyn Bosilovatz and Cathryn Wood of Escanaba; Bridget Becker and Nicolle Trudeau of Gladstone; Anna Shanks and Katie Lamy of Kingsford; Janay Walters and Ali VanRemortel of Kingsford; and Kate Garrow and Sam Schwemin of Marquette. Escanaba's Jayln Dagenais and Zoe Berquist were honorable mention. Negaunee's Kyle Saari was chosen as Division One Coach of the Year. Westwood's Chris Jackson was the Division Two Coach of the Year. And Kingsford's Mark Shanks was picked as the Upper Peninsula's regional Tennis Coach of the Year. |
