Dawson, Anthos Lead Redmen To Win In Kingsford
KINGSFORD---Max Dawson scored twice and goaltender Harrison Anthos was strong in the net as the Marquete Redmen boys soccer team stayed undefeated with a 4-0 win over the Kingsford Flivvers Tuesday night in Kingsford.
The Redmen jumped out to a 3-0 first half lead behind goals from Dawson, Isaac Johnson, and John Weber. Assists went to Weber and Hayden Byma, Ezra Pickard, and Byma, respectively.
Dawson put in a second half goal, his 20th of the season in just ten games, with Weber getting his third point of the game.
Anthos faced 12 shots in net, stopping them all. “We got challenged a lot on the defensive side of the ball but Harrison was a wall in net. He really stepped up when we needed him,” Redmen Coach Dan Salmon said. Marquette is 10-0 on the season and will host Sault Ste. Marie on Thursday. |
