The Marquette Midget BB 18u hockey team won a MAHA state championship Sunday night in downstate Howell. Marquette beat Belle Tire from the Detroit suburb of Taylor, 4-3, in double overtime, in the championship game, after coming back from a 3-1 deficit. Earlier in the day, Marquette beat Big Boy from the Detroit suburb of Fraser, 4-1, in the semifinal.

The Northern Michigan University women's hockey team won its second straight game at the ACHA National Tournament on Thursday, but it wasn't enough for the Wildcats to earn a spot in the Final Four. Northern defeated Boston College, 3-2, in Missouri, as Chloe Valente, Breanna Bisek, and Tyya McKenzie all scored goals. Larkyn Ripley stopped 37 of the 39 shots she faced in net. Northern finished round robin play with a 2-1 record.
