Marie (48-33), Mancelona (69-12), Rogers City (64-18), Kalkaska (72-12), and Alpena (84-0) to finish with a 5-0 record. Senior Bobby Beauchamp picked up his 100th career victory at 145 pounds.

Twenty-nine wrestlers from downstate Allendale High School are in Marquette learning a new style of the sport at the United States Olympic Training Site. WJMN Local Three Sports reports that the wrestlers are being taught the Greco-Roman style of wrestling which tests both the strength and mental toughness of the sport.

The Michigan High School Athletic Association announced Wednesday that the state wrestling finals will move to Central Michigan University starting in 2016. The Gladstone High School wrestling team rolled to a pair of lopsided victories Wednesday night to win the MHSAA Division Three District Championship in Negaunee. The Braves beat Kingsford, 60-6, and then after Negaunee topped Menominee (36-30), the Braves overwhelmed Negaunee, 60-6.
The Escanaba High School wrestling team fought off a huge challenge from the Sault Ste. Marie Blue Devils in the MHSAA Division Two District championship match Wednesday night in Marquette. On Tuesday, Escanaba beat Munising, 58-16, and then topped Bark River-Harris, 70-12.
