Menominee Beats Gladstone For Second Time, 3-1
MENOMINEE---The Menominee High School girls volleyball won two tight games to break a 1-1 tie and beat the Gladstone Braves, 3-1, Monday night in Menominee. It was the Maroons' second win over the Braves this season. The scores were 25-12, 24-26, 26-24, 25-22. "We gave away too many passes to their middles," Gladstone Volleyball Coach Liz Gendron said. "We were their best setter tonight. Harley Fornoff had a great match, though. She really made the most of her time on the floor." Fornoff had five kills, four digs, and three service aces in the match. The Braves got seven kills and 12 digs from Tasi Martinez, and Maddie Bailey contributed five kills and five digs. Jenna Steinhoff had three kills and two aces in the match. Defensively, Zoie Berg had 18 digs and Chasey Williams added 17 digs. Eli Lektzian had seven digs, and Kaitlyn Hardwick contributed five digs. Menominee also won the freshman and junior varsity matches. The Braves are off until Saturday, when they play in the Escanaba Elks Invitational. MONDAY'S OTHER U.P.
