MARQUETTE---
The Upper Peninsula Sportswiters and Sportscasters Association on Thursday released its All-U.P. football players for the 11-man division. A group of 19 reporters and writers from across the Upper Peninsula met all day Wednesday to go over all of the players who were nominated, position by position.

Dickinson County did quite well with the Kingsford Flivvers taking home Large School Team of the Year honors after going 10-1 so for this season. Running back Eli Rouse was a unanimous pick for Offensive Player of the Year after snashing a Kingsford Flivvers single season record for rushing yards.

Rouse was also a near-unanimous choice for Mr. Football, the award given to the best player in the Upper Peninsula, regardless of position.

Kingsford's Noah Johnson also got some hardware as the U.P. Defensive Player of the Year.

Meanwhile, Iron Mountain, in the Small Schools category, was the pick for Team of the Year. The Mountaineers are the only Upper Peninsula team to go undefeated this season. Coach Robin Marttila was named Coach of the Year.

And Iron Mountain running back Luke Wolfe, wide receiver Matthew Colavecchi and guard Connor Owens were all named to the Dream Team offense.

Gladstone ended up with eleven award winners, including six on the Dream Team, led by quarterback Nate Young, and three defensive players: Austin Solis, Eli Berthaume, and Jacob Perryman-Seymour. Other Dream Teamers included Aaron Hughes at tackle and Elliot Vitito at punter. Sopomore kicker Luke Inghram was a First Team selection.

The other U.P. team still playing, the Menominee Maroons, got Trevor Theurkauf as Dream Team linebacker, and running back Landon Bardowski as a First Team selection. The Maroons also had center Tyler Smith as a First Team selection.
