U.P. POWER! Gladstone, Marquette Majors Ready For States

Opening ceremonies were held Thursday for the Major Little League Softball (age 10-12) in the southern Michigan community of Schoolcraft. The Upper Peninsula has two teams in the 14-team, five day event: Gladstone and Marquette.

RED HISTORY: Marquette Girls Going To Final 4

The Marquette Junior Little League softball team made history on Wednesday. The group of 13 and 14 year olds beat Edwardsburg, 15-7, to advance to the state's Final Four for the first time ever. Minor Girls District Tournaments Get Under Way

The Little League Minor Girls (age 8-10) All-Star district tournaments continues Monday night across the U.P. In Escanaba, Gladstone rallied for two runs in the sixth inning to beat Kingsford, 3-2. In the second game, Escanaba beat Norway, 14-0, in four innings. In District Eleven, MNarquette eliminated Negaunee, 15-4, in four innings.

JUMP FOR JOY: Gladstone Boys Going Downstate

The Gladstone Major Little League All-Star (age 10-12) baseball team cruised past Iron Mountain, 11-1, to win the District Ten championship Thursday night at Howes Field. The win sends Gladstone to Saginaw for the state tournament. Click the above headline for details.
