MARQUETTE — The Northern Michigan University men's basketball team will face Michigan State and Michigan in exhibition play to open the 2015-16 campaign, head coach Bill Sall announced Wednesday afternoon.
"I can't thank Tom Izzo and John Beilein enough for giving us this opportunity," Sall said. "This is a great opportunity for our basketball program to face high-level competition, and it will be a great test for us to see where our team stands early in the season."
The Wildcats first travel to East Lansing, Mich. to take on the Spartans Wednesday, Nov. 4. Northern Michigan then squares off against the Wolverines Friday, Nov. 13 in Ann Arbor, Mich. Times will be available closer to the game dates.
The Wildcats last played Michigan Nov. 1, 2012 in an exhibition match. They last faced Michigan State during the 1975-76 campaign.
Ticket and road-trip packages for Wildcat fans will be announced at a later date.
