Wildcat Hockey Team Battles Hard, But Losing Skid Reaches Ten

NINE STILL STANDING: Round Two HS Football Playoff Schedules

Nine Upper Peninsula high school football teams survived the first weekend of the playoffs, and will play some November games next weekend. Escanaba, Kingsford, Menominee, Bark River-Harris, and Iron Mountain are all alive in 11-player. Norway, North Dickinson, Pickford and Lake Linden-Hubbell are alive in eight-player. NMU Football Leads Early, Falls To Top-Ranked Ferris State, 70-35

The Northern Michigan University football team took on the nation's top team in the Ferris State Bulldogs on Saturday afternoon, falling 70-35, in Big Rapids. The Wildcats scored first and outgained Ferris 116-88 after 15 minutes, where they were tied 14-14. Michigan Tech Hockey Beats St. Lawrence To Earn New York Split

Michigan Tech's hockey team shut out St. Lawrence University 3-0 on Saturday at Appleton Arena in New York, rebiounding from Friday night's loss fo Clarkson. Isaac Gordon, Max Koskipirtti, and Kalem Parker scored the goals, and Owen Bartoszkiewicz earned the shutout with 28 saves. (Michigan Tech photo, story)

Michigan Tech Football Gets Wake-Up Call; Wins Over Roosevelt

The Michigan Tech football team outscored Roosevelt 35-7 in the second half to earn a 56-31 victory at Kearly Stadium on Saturday afternoon.  With two games to play, Michigan Tech has reached seven wins for the second consecutive season under head coach Dan Mettlach in his fourth season at the helm of his alma mater.
