GRAND RAPIDS, MI – The Bay College Volleyball Team (13-12, 6-6 MCCAA) were caught up in a battle that went five sets in the play-in game of the 2025 Great Lakes District A Tournament but came up short.  The Norse fell to Kellogg Community College (17-12, 8-4 MCCAA) by scores of 25-21, 21-25, 26-24, 25-27, and 13-15.

The Norse put together their most efficient attack in the first set and looked to be in control of the match at times as they were able to fend off KCC for the four-point win in the first set.  The two teams traded leads throughout the second set, but it would be Kellogg who came from behind and tied the match at one set apiece after a 25-21 victory.

It looked as though Kellogg was going to take control of the match in the third, as they had the serve and set point with the score standing at 24-22, but Bay would get a side out and rally for the final four points of the set, winning 26-24.  With Bay on the brink of clinching the match in set number four it was Kellogg who pulled out the set late needing extra points to do so, 27-25, setting up the fifth and final set.

In what was a back-and-forth fight in the final set, it was Kellogg that was able to pull away late.  While Bay battled back, they were unable to overcome and fell by a final score of 15-13, ending the season for the Norse.

Mia Hauser (SO, Wallace, MI) led the Norse with 19 kills and had 21 digs in the contest.  Ava Maki (FR, Marquette, MI) added 17 kills.  Addie Morton (SO, Ishpeming, MI) finished with ten kills, while Haylee Gatien (FR, Powers, MI) had nine.  Hope Varoni (FR, Bark River, MI) picked up 56 assists in the match.

Defensively the Norse were led by Jade Jasenovsky (SO, Menominee, MI) who had 51 digs.  Hilarie Porcaro (SO, Sault Ste. Marie, MI) added 13 digs.

The Norse end the season with a 13-12 record, the best in the four-year history of the program.  Their 6-6 record in the MCCAA Northern Division marks the best finish they have had in conference as well.
