HANGING ON: Eskymos Get Hockey Win Over Hancock Bulldogs

The Escanaba High School hockey team raced to a big 6-2 lead after two periods, and then had to hang on for dear life down the stretch as the Hancock Bulldogs put on a furious rally before the Eskymos escaped with a 6-5 win Tuesday night at the Wells Sports Complex. Ben Sands had three goals and two assists to lead the Eskymos, while Brady Axford countered with a hat trick of his own for the Buldogs. Escanaba Boys Basketball Slips Past Norway To Earn First Win

The Escanaba High School boys basketball team won its home opener Monday night, turning back the Norway Knights, 50-36, in a defensive battle. The Bay College Norse Men's Basketball Team extended their win streak to four games over the weekend as they held on for a 75-72 victory over Oakton Community College on Friday night and a 86-79 win over McHenry County College on Saturday afternoon.
