SKID-ENDING WIN: Wildcats Beat Lawrence Tech

The Northern Michigan University football team broke a five-game losing streak on Saturday, topping the Lawrence Tech Blue Devils, 65-7, at the Superior Dome. The Wildcats scored 30 points in the first quarter and played plenty of subs as they cruised past the first-year NAIA school from suburban Detroit. U.P. Cross Country Teams Run At NMU Golf Course

The Northern Michigan, Michigan Tech, Bay College, and Finlandia University cross country runners gathered Friday at the NMU Golf Course for the U.P. Collegiate Championships.   • NMU Men's Soccer Gets Tie With Davenport
    The Northern Michigan University men's soccer team played to a 2-2 draw with Davenport University on the road Sunday afternoon. Senior forward Sam Popp scored both of NMU's goals. The Wildcats now have one match remaining in the regular season before the 2018 GLIAC Tournament gets underway. Northern is now 6-4-5 on the season.
  • Norse Top Sault College In Basketball Exhibition
    The Bay College Norse men's basketball team beat Sault College (Ontario), 96-67, in an exhibition game on Saturday in Escanaba. Four players scored in double figures, led by Reggie Dean with 13 points. Tyler Willette added 12 points, Alfonzo Fields scored 11, and Kobi Barnes scored ten points. Marcus McKenney had nine points, eight assists, and six rebounds for Bay.
  • NMU Hockey Swept At St. Cloud State
    The Northern Michigan University hockey team fell, 5-0, Saturday night against No. 4 St. Cloud State. The Wildcats also lost, 4-1, in Friday's game. Griffin Loughran scored his first collegiate goal with 11 seconds remaining in the second period of Friday's game, with assists going to senior defenseman Ryan Black and sophomore forward Mitchel Slattery. With the weekend losses, NMU fell to 1-3 on the season. The 'Cats have their home openers next weekend against Bemodji State.
  • NMU Volleyball Team Beats Lake State In Home Finale
    The Northern Michigan University Volleyball team celebrated Senior Day on Saturday by defeating fellow U.P. foe Lake Superior State University in their final home match of the season. It went the distance, with NMU winning the match, 3-2. The 'Cats won the final set, 15-5, after losing a five-set match to Saginaw Valley on Friday. Autumn Monsma led NMU with 18 kills in Saturday's win. Seven Wildcat seniors were honored before the match.
