Bay Cross Country Team travelled to the MCCAA Northern Conference Meet hosted by North Central Michigan College. Bay's Women's Team put two runners in the All-Conference as well as All-Freshman Team while the Men's Team had three runners qualify for All-Conference and one runner as All-Freshman.
The Bay College Norse athletic department hosted a high school cross country meet on Saturday for the first time ever, using the Farmhouse course in Flat Rock, the same venue that hosted the MHSAA high school U.P. The Gladstone High School boys cross country team won the Mid Peninsula Conference championship on Monday, edging Negaunee by one point, 36-37. Drew Hughes won his eleventh straight race, crossing the finish line in 17 minutes, 40 seconds. That was a full 81 seconds ahead of Negaunee's James Dank. The Miners easily won the girls' race over second place Gladstone, with the top three finishers, led by medalist Lola Korpi (21:04).
Gladstone cross country runner Drew Hughes won his ninth straight race, while the Marquette boys and girls teams continued their dominance on Tuesday at the Farmhouse Invitational in Delta County. This Saturday’s cross country invitational hosted by Bay College has been cancelled. Athletic Director Matt Johnson says it’s because of COVID-19, and lack of available runners and staff. The Norse also did not compete as scheduled last weekend at a meet hosted by Concordia College in Milwaukee.
