Collins Is MVP As Eskymo Track Team Finshes 2nd
NEGAUNEE---Escanaba senior Lynsey Collins won three events in a dominating performance Saturday at the Negaunee Lions Track and Field Invitational. Collins set a Meet Record in the 300 hurdles in 47.69 seconds, less than a second shy of the Eskymo school record. She also won the 200 meter dash in 27.70 seconds, and Collins was first in the 100 meter dash in 13.49. She was named the event's Most Valuable Player. As a team, Marquette was the winner with 200 points. Escanaba was second with 154, and Negaunee finished third with 105 points. Westwood was fourth and Gwinn fifth. Escanaba's Sunny Martineau won the 100 hurdles in 17.24 seconds. Marquette's Lindsey Rudden set a Meet Record in the 800-meter run, winning in 2 minutes, 19.52 seconds. She also won the 1600-meter run. Marquette's Kristen Iwanski won the discus and shotput, and teammate Amber Huebner won the 400 and the 3200. |
