Upper Peninsula Runners Enjoy Boston Marathon

BOSTON---Nearly two dozen Upper Peninsula runners of all ages took part in Monday's Boston Marathon, two years after terrorists bombed the event.

There were no such issues on Monday, and the U.P. runners had fun and ran alongside others from dozens of countries from around the world.

Delta County Runners
Brittany Richard, age 21, of Garden, finished in 3 hours, 28 minutes, 6 seconds. That was good for 9,453rd overall, and 2,078th amongst women.

Laurie Alworden, age 51, of Gladstone, finished in 3 hours, 58 minutes, 18 seconds. That was good for 18,514th overall, and 7,634th amongst women.

Kaylyn Bernard, age 28, of Escanaba, finished in 4 hours, 59 minutes, 12 seconds. That was good for 24,910th overall, and 11,058th amongst women.

Kyle Arvan, age 21, of Gladstone, did not finish the race. He did first 5K in 21 minutes, 14 seconds, and did the second 5K in 21 minutes, 24 seconds.

Alger County Runners
Amanda Jurinen, age 38, of Munising, finished in 3 hours, 47 minutes, 52 seconds. That was good for 15,725th overall, and 5,670th amongst women.

Schoolcraft County Runners
Nancy Krusic, age 48, of Manistique, finished in 4 hours, 5 minutes, 3 seconds. That was good for 19,740th overall, and 8,092nd amongst women.

Marquette County Runners
Neal Collick, age 35, of Negaunee, finished in 3 hours, 8 minutes, 38 seconds. That was good for 4,340th overall, and 3,977th amongst men.

Angie Eagling, age 36, of Negaunee, finished in 3 hours, 27 minutes, 8 seconds. That was good for 9,127th overall, and 1,938th amongst women.

Ben Kinney, age 27, of Marquette, finished in 3 hours, 33 minutes, 42 seconds. That was good for 11,348th overall, and 8,279th amongst men.

Bill Sved, age 66, of Marquette, finished in 4 hours, 6 minutes, 59 seconds. That was good for 20.039th overall, and 11,761th amongst men.

Kelly Menge, age 34, of Negaunee, finished in 4 hours, 10 minutes, 5 seconds. That was good for 20,528th overall, and 8,577th amongst women.

Karen Nelson, age 50, of Gwinn, finished in 4 hours, 10 minutes, 12 seconds. That was good for 20,553rd overall, and 8,591st amongst women.

Jennifer Baldwin, age 47, of Marquette, finished in 4 hours, 21 minutes, 50 seconds. That was good for 22,079th overall, and 9,488th amongst women.

Houghton County Runners
George Eakin, age 46, of South Range, finished in 3 hours, 38 minutes, 48 seconds. That was good for 13,009th overall, and 8,982nd amongst men.

Amy Aldrich, age 34, of Hancock, finished in 3 hours, 39 minutes, 49 seconds. That was good for 13,345th overall, and 4,221st amongst women.

Laurie Smith, age 49, of Atlantic Mine, finished in 3 hours, 40 minutes, 8 seconds. That was good for 13,458th overall, and 4,285th amongst women.

Ann Hoover, age 42, of Hancock, finished in 3 hours, 44 minutes, 1 second. That was good for 14,651st overall, and 5,006th amongst women.

Brian Aho, age 61, of Atlantic Mine, finished in 3 hours, 47 minutes, 26 seconds. That was good for 15,605th overall, and 10,000th amongst men.
