Manistique Wins 'Pink Tournament' Championship
MANISTIQUE----The Manistique High School softball team has now won six staright games. The Emeralds won the championship of its "Pink Tournament" on Saturday, beating Munising, 4-2, and Norway, 9-3. The Emeralds made just one error in the doublehader."You can't go wrong when you get defense like that," Manistique Coach Dave McNeil said. Haley MacGregor got the pitching victory in both games. The money raised from the tournament went to the Korman Foundation, which supports breast cancer research. Some of the money also went to the local group "Shirley's Angels". Manistique (15-17) returns to action on Monday with a doubleheader in St. Ignace. |
