Eskymos Suffer Through Miserable Night Of Hoops

ESCANABA---The Escanaba High School boys basketball team had a rough night against their Great Northern Conference rivals Tuesday night. The Eskymos fell behind early and the Marquette Redmen piled on for a 63-33 win in Escanaba.

Marquette made seven three-point baskets and played tough full-court pressure defense to force Eskymo mistakes...and rushed shots.

The game was tied at 7-7, but the Redmen scored ten of the next tweleve points to lead, 19-9, after the first quarter.

It didn't get any better for the 'Mos as Marquette raced to a 40-16 lead at the half.

Four Redmen scored in double figures: Garrett Finkbeiner had 13 points, Treylon McFerrin had 12, and Troy Sergey and Ian Ogea both scored ten points.

The Eskymos were led by Tyler Willette's eight points. C.J. Barron had seven points off the bench, and Ryan Robinette contributed six points for the Eskymos.
