Escanaba Boys Blank Lincoln For 2nd Tourney Win
 GRAND RAPIDS---The Escanaba 10-11 boys won their second straight game at the state tournament in Grand Rapids on Saturday, beating Lincoln Little League, 11-0. The boys clinched a spot in the quarterfinals with the win, although they will have one final pool play game on Sunday afternoon against Traverse City East. On Saturday, Escanaba used three pitchers: Trent Lawson, Brayden Martineau, and Sawyer LaMarch. Offensively, Lawson, Martineau, and Gunner Bourdeau all had two base hits. Saturday's win followed a 7-6 come-from-behind victory over Clinton. Escanaba built a 5-0 lead, fell behind 6-5, then scored a pair of late runs to post the win. LaMarch went 3-for-3 at the plate, and Boudreau added a two-run double. Casey Bray started on the mound, throwing 35 pitches, striking out six batters and allowing no hits or walks. Lawson, Martineau, and LaMarch finished up on the mound. LaMarch got two strikeouts and a diving catch to end the game. |
