Northern Michigan Volleyball Coach Yoder Resigns

MARQUETTE---Northern Michigan head volleyball coach Dominic Yoder resigned Tuesday afternoon. He had been the Wildcat volleyball coach for the past decade.

"Dominic led our volleyball program to a high level of success," said Director of Athletics Forrest Karr. "I wish him the best in his future endeavors."

Assistant coach Mandie Meyer will serve as interim head coach while a national search takes place for Yoder's replacement. The national search will begin immediately.

Yoder compiled a record of 191-117 (121-56 GLIAC) in 10 seasons. He led the Wildcats to six 20-win seasons, nine-straight GLIAC tournament berths and three-straight NCAA appearances from 2008 to 2010. On September 23, 2014, he set a school record with his 94th career GLIAC victory, a 3-1 win over rival Michigan Tech.

Northern Michigan has been consistently competitive on the national level, qualifying for 16 NCAA tournaments, reaching at least the quarterfinals eight times and winning the 1993 and 1994 national championships.

In 2015, Madison Whitehead captured the program's 23rd AVCA All-American award as a sophomore.
