Norse Cruise Past Lawrence For 19th Victory, 69-63
APPLETON---The Bay College men's basketball team led from start to finish and posted a 69-63 win over the Lawrence University Junior Vikings Wednesday night in Appleton. The win improved the Norse record to 19-9 in their first season of basketball on the Escanaba campus in four decades. The team has two games left on the schedule. Coach Matt Johnson substituted freely throughout the game, and all ten Norse players scored in the contest. The Norse led, 30-21, after Hunter Schultz came off the bench to nail a triple. That was part of a 9-0 run that gave Bay a 34-21 lead at halftime. In the second half, the lead grew to as many as 16 points at 46-30 as Garrett Finkbeiner made his second triple of the game. Tyler Willette had 14 points and Marcus McKenney added 13 for Bay. Alfonzo Fields added eight points and Darien Nichols chipped in seven points. Lawrence was led by Joe Duero, who scored a game-high 19 points, including five three-point baskets. The Norse (19-9) travel to UW-Superior this Friday night.
