YMCA Offering Youth Basketball Camp July 23-26

ESCANABA---The Northern Lights YMCA will be offering a new Basketball Camp. This basketball camp is new to the YMCA and will be a good addition to the Basketball Programs around the area. Registration is currently underway.

“We are excited to offer this program and we know the kids have been looking forward to it,” said Boston Hood, YMCA Youth Sports Coordinator. “The Basketball Camp is designed to be a high-intensity skills and drills camp that will challenge player’s through team drills.”

He also added the Basketball Camp will be led by Clayton Castor, former Gladstone High School Boys Varsity Basketball Coach, and former Escanaba High School Standout Player, Olivia Nash.

“Clayton and Olivia bring a lot of playing and coaching ability to the table” said Hood.

The camp will run July 23rd through July 26th for boys and girls in grades 7-12th. “We will have two different age groups playing at separate times” said Hood. Grades 7th-9th you will play at 2:00-3:30 pm and grades 10th-12th you will go from 3:30-5:00 pm. The camp will be held at the YMCA/Bay College Gym.

“The experience we have leading this camp is something special.

Clayton and Olivia bring experience and knowledge of basketball that we don’t normally see around the area” stated Hood.

Cost of the camp is $31 for YMCA Members and $57 for the General Public.
