ESCANABA---
The Escanaba High School boys basketball team was not caught looking past the Negaunee Miners Monday night, leading from wire to wire and posting a 56-35 non-conference win.

The Eskymos improved to 13-1 on the season ahead of this Thursday's conference road game in Menominee, and the start of the district tournament next week on their home court.

Escanaba led, 13-8, after the first quarter, and it was 32-16 at halftime. The Miners were able to close to within ten in the second half, but the Eskymos led 39-27, after three quarters and cruised to the win.

Carter Hudson scored 17 points to lead the Eskymos.

His younger brother, Colin, had 13 points and three slam dunks.

Jared Hanson knocked down three triples for his nine points.

Gerald Johnson scored 11 points and Will Luke added ten for Negaunee (6-7). The Miners' center, Eli Luokkala, was in foul trouble for much of the game and ended up fouling out.
