SAULT STE. MARIE---The Marquette Sentinels boys varsity soccer team traveled to Sault Ste. Marie on Wednesday night for a soccer game. Marquette won 8-0 under the mercy rule at the half.

“I challenged the team to play a complete game on both sides of the ball which they did. We had a lot of good passes and teamwork tonight," MSHS Coach Dan Salmon said.
Marquette is 4-1 on the season and host Kingsford next Tuesday night.

Game 1 vs Harbor Springs
Marquette wins 2–1

Marquette goaltender Edan Hautamaki made three saves on four shots.
Game 2 vs Oxford
Oxford wins 1-0
The lone goal in this game came halfway through the second half.
Marquette keeper Hautamaki made 11 saves on 12 shots.
Game 3 vs Freeland
Marquette wins 7-1

Hautamaki made three saves on four shots.
“It was a successful weekend of soccer for our team. Lots of growth and lots of learning. The boys went toe to toe with a very good Oxford team. They showed us coaches a lot of what they are capable of for the season ahead," Salmon said. "Hrodey turned in a fine performance on the offensive side with four goals and an assist while Indigo Catalano barely came off the field in locking down our defense."
