MARQUETTE---The Marquette Redettes won the Upper Peninsula gymnastics title Thursday night, and qualified for the state finals. Marquette had 127.2 points. Escanaba was second with 117.45, and Negaunee took third with 115.55 points.
Marquette's Avery Rochester won the "all-around" with 33.55 points. Escanaba's Erin Mattson was second with 32.95 points.
Rochester won the beam (9.25) and the vault (8.5), while Mattson won the bars (7.9). Mattson, who has qualified for states as an indvidual, was also second in the beam and floor scores, and she took third in the vault.
Marquette's Mikayla Mitchell won the floor routine (8.4 points).
Escanaba's Isabelle Wellman finished second in the vault.
