The Gladstone Braves and Iron Mountain Mountaineers baseball teams braved the cold, windy conditions Thursday night to play a rather entertaining game at Don Olsen Field in Gladstone. The Michigan High School Athletic Association Representative Council has decided to make changes to the football playoff procedures. Starting this fall, all regions will be seeded, based on playoff points, with seeds 1, 4, 5, and 8 going into one district, and seeds 2, 3, 6, and 7 going into another district. The council also approved a proposal to suspend any official who makes aggressive or intentional contact with a student or official. The Escanaba Eskymos lost twice in downstate Clio on Friday. The first game was a classic, with the fourth-ranked Mustangs winning, 1-0. Pitcher Addie Taylor threw a no-hitter for Clio, and Escanaba senior Landry Bray threw a one-hitter. That one hit, by Clio's Summer Stevens, was an RBI double in the third inning.
