Gladstone Wrestlers Fall In State Quarterfinal 48-15

BATTLE CREEK---The Gladstone High School wrestling team lost in the MHSAA Divison Three state quarterfinals on Friday, falling to downstate powerhouse Richmond, 48-15. Three Gladstone wrestlers got wins from Jeremy Kadish (140), James Bruce (112) and Bobby Beauchamp (130)...all on points.

Gladstone heavyweight Tom Bailey got a win by forfeit.

The box score is posted below. Seven Gladstone wrestlers will compete in the MHSAA Indvidual State Finals next Saturday at the Palace of Auburn Hills.

DIVISION FOUR: HUDSON 67, NORWAY 5---Hudson has won the state championship four years in a row in Division Four. Norway was making its first trip to the state finals in school history. And Hudson cruised in this quarterfinal.

The Knights got a pin from 189-pounder Jorden Neumann in the first match of the night to take the lead, but did not win another match the rest of the evening. Norway was docked a sportsmanship point to reduce its total from six to five.
