NOVI---The Marquette Senior High School Figure Skating competed at states over the weekend in Novi...and took first place in the Individual combined events.
The last time the team won a championship was 2009.
Meanwhile, Escanaba's Taylor Gauthier won the Michigan High School Skating Individual State Champion at the Novice Test Track Freestyle level at the competition.

at the competition. This is back to back titles for her winning the Intermediate Test
Track Freestyle last year. She is a member of the Escanaba Area Figure Skating Club.

Marquette had three individual state champions: Senior Nora Gaffney in dance, Freshman Jasmine Burke in Artistic and Sophomore Emily Helgren in Freeskate.
Others from Marquette making it to the finals were Faith Perala in freeskate, Sydney Voss in Artistic and Freeskate, Janelle Voss in Freeskate, Sydney Rehmann in Artistic.
There were girls from more than 30 schools across Michigan at the event.
