MANISTIQUE---The Rapid River High School softball team won both ends of a doubleheader on Tuesday, beating the Manistique Emeralds, 13-2 and 10-2, in Manistique.
It was the second straight doubleheader sweep for the Rockets, after the girls won both games over Stephenson Monday afternoon in Rapid River.
In the first game, Lindsay Knuth ripped a three-run home run to break a 2-2 tie , while Shelby Lacosse added a solo home run. Erika Schwartz threw all six innings in the circle for the Rockets, giving up four hits and a walk. She struck out three batters.
In the second game, Dominique Pavlat was a home run shy of hitting for the cycle. She went four for five, with a double and a triple. Hannah Kanyuh threw all seven innings to earn the victory. She allowed four hits and a walk, and struck out three batters.
Rapid River hosts Munising for another doubleheader Wednesday afternoon at 4:00.
