CHEBOYGAN---The Escanaba Minor Little League All-Stars (age 8-10) won their second straight game in pool play on Saturday at the Michigan State Tournament in Cheboygan.
Escanaba held off Bullock Creek Southtown from the Midland area, 5-2, to take a prime undefeated spot in the pool standings.
Amaya Humbert continued to do her job in the pitcher's circle, throwing a complete-game four-hitter, striking out 12 batters and walking two.
Avery Hornung threw well for Bullock Creek, striking out 14 Escanaba batters.
Escanaba completes pool play on Sunday afternoon against Georgetown, with the first pitch scheduled for 3:00. Then, it's on to the state quarterfinals on Monday.
