CHEBOYGAN---The Escanaba Minor Little League All-Star softball team (age 8-10) finished pool play undefeated on Sunday with a 4-2 win over Georgetown at the Michigan State Tournament in Cheboygan.
Kara Bosanic's two-run triple in the fifth inning broke a 1-1 tie for Escanaba. Bosanic also had an RBI single earlier in the game and wound up driving in three of Escanaba's four runs. Amaya Humbert threw a complete-game four-hitter in the circle, striking out ten batters. Humbert also hit a solo home run in the sixth inning for some icing on the cake.
Escanaba will play in the state quarterfinals on Monday against Petoskey. The game is set to start at 9:30 in the morning.
